POPLAR GROVE (WREX) — Boylan's Cole Beto buried six birdies on his way to a -1, 71, round to win the Medalist honors at the 2-A Regional at Timber Pointe Golf Club. He beat out Belvidere North's Sean O'Connell by six strokes to win the individual title. Boylan won the team title by nine strokes over second place Belvidere North, while Freeport took third to also punch a ticket to next week's Sectionals. Rounding out the top five individuals were Boylan's Ledius Felipe (80), Belvidere North's Matthew Leake (80) and Boylan's Johnny Frisella (81).

In the 1-A Pearl City Regional at Wolf Hollow Golf Course in Lena, Dakota edged Rockford Christian by one stroke to win the team title, with Byron rounding out the top three to qualify for next week's Sectionals. Dakota's Koehn Lawler won Medalist
