TOWN OF CENTER, Wis. (WBAY) - People in an Outagamie County town are concerned about a proposal for a gravel quarry that would be only a quarter mile from their homes.
There is already one located a mile from these neighborhoods, and they’ve experienced the effects of constant truck traffic, making the roads unsafe, and they’re worried about other factors.
The gravel quarry would be located off County Highway A near Quarry Road and across from the existing one.
Lynn Rasmussen lives only 1,300 feet from where this quarry could be, and she says they are not opposed to having a gravel quarry; they just want it in a different location.
People living in this area, including Lynn, started a petition to try to get Outagamie County to move the quarry elsewhere, which now has 68 signatures.
