EULESS, Texas — A shooting and subsequent police standoff in Euless forced multiple schools to go into lockdown Wednesday afternoon, police said.

According to a news release from the Euless Police Department, around 8:07 a.m., officers responded to a shooting at an apartment complex in the 1400 block of Raider Drive. Upon arrival, police said that officers found a woman who had been injured. She was taken to the hospital, police said.

The Euless Police Department said that the suspect remained barricaded inside the apartment. During this time, Central Junior High, KEYS High School, and the DAEP school were placed on lockdown for precautionary reasons.
