ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. — Human remains found in Orangeburg County earlier this year have been identified as a 23-year-old woman reported missing more than a year ago .
Sheriff Leroy Ravenell announced that remains discovered on March 13 off Highway 4 belong to Cloe Williams of Neeses. Williams was reported missing in February 2024.
“On one hand, we finally have an identity, yet on the other we still have a loss of life,” Ravenell said. “My team has been in continued contact with the family since she went missing, and we ask prayers for them at this time.”
The sheriff said the case has now been ruled a homicide after an autopsy confirmed Williams had suffered a gunshot wound.
