INEZ, Ky. (WYMT) - After losing their season opener against Lawrence County, Martin County has won five straight contests.

Devan Maynard had a strong outing against Knott County Central, receiving the nod for Don Franklin Athlete of the Week.

The senior ran for 329 yards and three touchdowns on the ground in the 41 to 6 win.

“He impacts every facet of the game,” said Martin Co. Head Football Coach Josh Muncy. “Offense, defense, special teams.”

The quarterback and safety also racked up 129 passing yards and a touchdown.

“Stellar performance, on the air and on the ground,” Muncy said. “He was a facilitator of the offense for sure, he did exactly what he asked him to do and stepped up and had a huge game, in a district game.“
