SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) - Former Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan warned Tuesday that Georgians cannot afford to lose more healthcare options as he launched his “Protect Georgians’ Health Care Tour” in Savannah.

“Politics has no place in healthcare. It’s simply policy,” Duncan said.

Duncan, who is running for governor, pledged to stand up to the Trump administration and lower health care costs if elected. He cited recent reports of a Lavonia hospital closing its labor and delivery unit and a Claxton hospital preparing to shut down its intensive care unit, both tied to Medicaid cuts.
