DETROIT, MI — Spirit Airlines is planning to furlough 103 Detroit-based flight attendants, according to a WARN notice filed with the state of Michigan.

The furlough is expected to begin on Dec. 1 or within the first two weeks of December, according to the notice.

It has not been determined how long the furlough will last, but Spirit Senior VP Nick Bartolotta said it is anticipated to be temporary.

All of the affected employees are represented by the Association of Flight Attendants, Bartolotta stated in the notice, which was filed Sept. 22 with the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity.

The furlough is subject to terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement, Bartolotta stated.
