WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — Federal lawmakers met Wednesday to discuss a federal funding bill, but after a vote, the bill failed again, leading to a continued government shutdown.

With Congress scheduled to be in recess Thursday and Friday for Yom Kippur, the shutdown could last into the weekend, leaving families and businesses in Central Georgia bracing for challenges ahead.

Warner Robins has grown up around Robins Air Force Base, the largest employer in Houston County.

“We definitely, we felt it a little bit,” said Sara Hoselton, manager at Gregg’s 2.0, a restaurant located just across Highway 247 from the base. “We're right across from the base and it's the base city.”
