BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -The second day of the Ayanna Morgan murder trial was held today in Bowling Green, with both the prosecution and defense calling witnesses to make their case.

On Sept. 30, 14 jurors were selected in total, including 8 men and 6 women, who will ultimately decide whether Malik Jones was acting in self-defense or if he is guilty of murder.

The prosecution alleged that Jones had been the one to shoot and kill Morgan in July of 2023 and was arrested nearly 3 months later in Michigan, with Detective Ryan Dillion of the Bowling Green Police Department testifying.

Once the prosecution rested, the defense moved for a direct verdict, asserting Jones had no choice but to take the gun because Morgan was chasing him with it, and that he did not bring a gun of his own to the
