MOSCOW, Idaho — A judge has ruled that the City of Moscow cannot release any photos of the University of Idaho murder victims’ bodies unless they are completely blacked out, citing privacy concerns.
Earlier this year, some of the victims’ families filed a lawsuit to prevent the release of those photos. In the ruling, the judge said releasing the images would constitute “an invasion of personal privacy.”
The case stems from the 2022 killings of University of Idaho students Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle and Ethan Chapin. Bryan Kohberger pleaded guilty to the murders in July. He is now serving four life sentences without the possibility of parole.
