BOISE, Idaho — Cool and generally unsettled weather will stick around this week as one storm system moves off and another starts to strengthen along the west coast.

The weekend system that brought light mountain snowfall and a sharp drop in temperatures across the area will slide out of our area overnight Sunday into early Monday. Showers will continue in NE Oregon, the Upper Weiser River Basin, and the West Central Mountains through Monday morning, with snow above 5,500' and rain below that. Other areas remain dry on Monday, and while we don't anticipate much sunshine for the Columbus Day holiday, temperatures will climb closer to seasonable territory, reaching the low to mid-60s across the Snake River Plain and upper 40s to low 40s in the mountains.
