ROGERS, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — The historic War Eagle Bridge is closed after a semi-truck hit it on Oct. 1, the Piney Point Fire Department said.
The closure comes ahead of the War Eagle Craft Fair, set for Oct. 16–19, and as the Bikes, Blues, and BBQ rally kicks off in Rogers.
Built in 1907, the War Eagle Bridge is a one-lane steel truss bridge beside War Eagle Mill. It’s the only Parker truss bridge in northwest Arkansas and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.
No estimate has been given on when the bridge might reopen.
