LOUISVILLE, Ky. —

The feud in Washington has plunged the nation into a government shutdown.

While the financial impacts won't be immediately felt, Louisville leaders worry how long this lapse in funding will last.

"If the shutdown drags on, essential services administered by Louisville Metro government, such as food assistance, housing programs, small business support and transportation projects could be delayed, scaled back, or even halted," Mayor Craig Greenberg said.
