While speaking on the podcast “A Bit of Optimism” hosted by Simon Sinek, the actor got to talking about authenticity in Hollywood — or lack thereof, with an example of a fellow actor who he wouldn’t identify.

“I won’t name names but people can do the math,” he said. “I came up with a bunch of guys about the same time, same looks, same level of talent, and one became a gigantic, gigantic, iconic movie star but the way that that person did it is they were a different person in private than they were in public.”

Rob and Tom come up together as stars in 1983’s “The Outsiders.”

Later in the podcast interview, The West Wing actor did actually name the “Mission Impossible” star, accusing him of being doing a “man of the people” impression while interacting with fans.
