The Colorado Bureau of Investigations will conduct a review of the case of author Hunter S. Thompson's death. He died of a gunshot wound to the head in 2005 at age 67. It was ruled a suicide.

Authorities say, "We hope to provide a definitive and transparent review that may offer peace of mind to his family and the public." They do so not because of new evidence but because his widow, Anita, has requested it.
