PRINCETON, Maine — The small Washington County town of Princeton is currently under a boil-water order because the community's only municipal well has dried up.
The boil water order impacted the day-to-day operations of Freshies, which relies on town water, according to the store's general manager Pam Liking. They had to close their public bathrooms and deli. However, even with these obstacles they've still been able to serve their customers.
"I don't want to not be able to provide for our customers, so it was a little scary,” Liking said.
She explained they are relying on resources from the Freshies in Calais and hauled in a pizza truck while things get sorted.
"That brought business in here, too, so that really helped us because we had the deli closed,” Liking said.
