KAILUA (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu firefighters rescued a 25-year-old male hiker Wednesday after paramedics said he had slid and injured his ankle.

Firefighters responded to the Olomana Ridge Trail just after 11 a.m., according to HFD.

Emergency Medical Services later determined that the man slid about ten to fifteen feet while hiking and injured his ankle.

Paramedics treated the hiker and took him to the hospital in stable condition, according to EMS.

HFD closed the incident at around 1:10 p.m.
