TEXARKANA, Texas - Celebrations of Hispanic Heritage, including food, music, and traditions, are a cornerstone of "Hispanic Heritage Month."
Texarkana College hosted its annual Hispanic Heritage festival Tuesday on the campus lawn. The event included free activities, music, authentic Mexican food and unique handmade goods.
Organizers say it's more than a festival; it's an opportunity to promote unity and cultural pride.
“I really hope it helps us build our organization and bring more Hispanic students from here from Texarkana College. I know there's a lot of people that are Hispanic or just part of our culture that would probably want to join,” said Areli Pablo, Hispanic Student Association president.
