PHILADELPHIA — Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro signed an executive order Wednesday creating new safeguards for vaccine access in Pennsylvania — a move he said is necessary to protect families’ health and freedom as federal agencies face mounting political interference.

Executive Order 2025-02, which Shapiro signed at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), directs state agencies to maintain coverage for vaccines, expand public education and align guidance with leading medical organizations instead of what Shapiro described as a “chaotic” federal process.
