CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) - Celebrations are well underway for this year's Moja Arts Festival, with a block party taking place on Wednesday.
It's a celebration of African-American and Caribbean arts and culture in the Lowcountry, which also looks back at its rich history in Charleston.
This is a popular event that's involved hundreds of people for more than 40 years.
Wednesday's main event featured Tommy Brown Jr., who presented a tribute to African-American icons who passed away in 2025.
Charlton Singleton is the artistic director of the festival and says this is an event that's special to him.
