The Priceville Police Department has terminated Officer Gary Chapman following a police chase that ended in a fatal crash in Morgan County in September. The incident resulted in the death of 17-year-old Tristan Hollis and injuries to several other teenagers.

Chapman was reportedly fired for violating the city’s pursuit policy. His attorney, Scott Morro, claims Chapman adhered to the policy and is appealing the termination.

"We're not going to stop until his reputation and his rights are protected," Morro said.

Morro explained that the policy requires officers to assess and reassess pursuit circumstances, terminating if necessary. He contends that city officials disagreed with Chapman's decisions that night.
