EUCLID, Ohio (WJW) - The Euclid Police Department is searching for a driver accused of hitting a teenage girl on a bike before leaving the scene.

According to Euclid police, the accident happened around 4:40 p.m. Wednesday afternoon at the corner of E. 260th Street and Lakeshore Boulevard.

Investigators said the victim, a 17-year-old girl, was in the crosswalk when she was hit by a white sedan and knocked off her bike.

She was treated by EMS crews at the scene.

The driver, who hasn't been identified at this time, left the scene by heading south on E. 260th Street, investigators said.

In a Facebook post Wednesday night, Euclid police said officers were working to obtain nearby surveillance footage.
