MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -- A fire truck responding to a fire call was struck by a motorcycle Monday afternoon, according to police.

A Hampden Township fire engine was responding to a fire call around 4:42 p.m. Monday heading westbound on East Main Street in Mechanicsburg, according to borough police.

Police said a motorcycle was following behind and, when the engine attempted to turn onto Market Street, the motorcycle struck the truck.

The motorcyclist was injured and taken to an area hospital.

Police are continuing to investigate.
