Sinking air behind Hurricane Imelda and a huge ridge of high pressure will bring a renewed sunny and fall-like stretch through the end of the week as we begin the month of October. The difference will be cooler temperatures. Highs through Friday are expected to be in the lower 70s with overnight lows in the 40s. A breeze will add coolness to the air at times today, too.
