ST. CHARLES, Mo. - The St. Charles Police Department has identified the minor killed over the weekend in a St. Charles home as 16-year-old Carter Bennett.
Police said the teen was killed by his mother Saturday in their home in the 3200 block of Lightfoot Drive.
Just before 11 a.m. Monday, police went to the home and found the teenager dead. Investigators learned Bennett’s mother, identified as Krista Roy, 47, had attempted to take her own life earlier in the day and was at the hospital.
She has since been charged with 1st-degree murder in connection to his death.
