Pandit Channulal Mishra, a distinguished figure in the world of Hindustani classical music, died at the age of 89 on Thursday, October 2, 2025. Mishra died at his daughter’s home in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh, following a period of illness.
The celebrated vocalist had been admitted to a hospital due to age-related ailments and was under medical care for more than two weeks prior to his death.
"He was admitted to the hospital for the last 17–18 days with age-related issues. He passed away at home this morning at around 4 a.m.," his daughter Namrata Mishra told PTI.
