Yangon: Rakhine State in western Myanmar is facing a rapidly worsening humanitarian crisis, with aid agencies warning that millions of people are at risk of severe hunger and malnutrition.

Escalating conflict, widespread blockades, and chronic shortages of humanitarian funding have left families in desperate conditions, with children among the most affected.

According to aid groups, more than 100,000 children in Rakhine are suffering from acute malnutrition, yet only a small number are receiving treatment. Across Myanmar, the situation is equally dire, with an estimated 16 million people experiencing food insecurity and more than half a million children projected to face severe malnutrition this year.
