SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- The San Diego County Board of Supervisors voted to approve the Harmony Grove Village South project in North County with the condition the HOA must provide two fire safety checks a year.

Supporters say they felt the project would bring more jobs to the area and create more housing availability for people.

Meanwhile 1,200 people signed a petition in opposition saying they worried about fire safety dangers, citing the area didn’t have enough access roads to get people out of danger in the event of a wildfire.
