A cult leader and self-professed prophet will fight allegations that he and his wife groomed a girl for several years, starting when she was only six.

William Kamm, known to his followers as 'Little Pebble', allegedly called the child, wrote her letters and sent her presents to groom her to become a "queen" in his church.

While it's alleged he never met the girl, the 74-year-old and his wife Sandra Susan Mathison, 58, are accused of grooming her for more than a decade.

At the time, prosecutors say Kamm was either in jail for the sexual abuse of two other girls or on parole and subject to an extended supervision order.

But the cult leader and his wife denied the allegations when they faced Sydney's Downing Centre Local Court on Thursday.
