India’s electronics manufacturing sector is witnessing significant growth, with investment proposals under the Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme crossing Rs 1.15 lakh crore, far exceeding the targets set during the scheme’s launch.

Union Minister for Electronics and IT, Ashwini Vaishnaw, announced that the government had initially aimed to attract around Rs 59,000 crore in investments.

Employment For 1.41 Lakh People

The applications, which closed on September 30, have surpassed expectations in terms of investment, production, and employment. The proposals are expected to generate employment for 1.41 lakh people, compared to the target of 91,600 jobs.
