A Midwest City business is adjusting its sails in preparation for an indefinite government shutdown.
It would be the first shutdown in more than 6 years.
Demontre Heard is the owner of The Barbers Market in Midwest City, a venture he started after a career in the Army.
“As far as military, we should be getting paid because what are we working for?” Heard said. “I mean, we are doing everything for the country, but you can't get paid for doing what they want us to do for the country."
Heard was in the Army in 2013 when a previous shutdown kept government workers away from their pay for 10 days.
“We work harder than people in politics,” he said about Congress. “But, all they do is go out there and talk to each other."
