BATAVIA – The Genesee Symphony Orchestra is having a little fun with its season-opening concert on Saturday.

The program is called “Shade’s Faves!” And while conductor S. Shade Zajac says the program – and the entire 79th season – is a chance to celebrate the community orchestra – the opening concert also celebrates another milestone. This season marks Zajac’s 10th season with the GSO, making him among the longest serving conductor’s in the orchestra’s history.
