A driver killed in a shocking freeway crash in his classic car is being remembered by his grieving widow as a “devoted husband” who was always ready “with his signature bear hug”.
Car enthusiast Johnny Gray, 60, was killed when his pink 1956 Chevrolet collided with a Ford Ranger in Nowergup, north of Perth , just after 8pm on Wednesday.

Major crash detectives are investigating whether Gray was driving the wrong way down the Mitchell Fwy before the crash, which closed the road for several hours.
He died at the scene and the Ranger driver, a 35-year-old man, is recovering in Royal Perth Hospital.
The tragedy has triggered an outpouring of tributes, including from Gray’s shattered wife.
