CHATHAM — Candidates for contested races in Pittsylvania County faced off in a forum Tuesday night in front of a standing-room-only crowd at the Chatham Community Center.

For the seats of treasurer, board of supervisors and school board, a few common themes emerged, including expected economic growth in the county.

The Danville Pittsylvania Chamber of Commerce hosted the event for the elections that featured more than one candidate.

“Please remember this is a forum, this is not a debate,” Linda Green, chair of the chamber’s legislative committee and forum moderator, cautioned the candidates to start the evening.
