LSU won't neglect its rushing offense. Coach Brian Kelly made sure to mention that concern as well on Wednesday, when he explained why the Tigers are devoting a considerable portion of their open date to their ailing passing attack.

“Everybody wants to talk about the run game,” Kelly said. “I get it.”

But Garrett Nussmeier is a second-year starter who threw for over 4,000 yards last year. LSU brought back his leading receiver, his favorite field-stretcher and his uber-athletic sophomore tight end, then paired that trio of weapons with two transfer wideouts who had already proven they could excel in the SEC. The moves could’ve created a deeper, more dynamic offense, but only if the Tigers played to their strengths.
