As the National Hurricane Center tracks Hurricane Imelda in the Atlantic, a new storm, Tropical Storm Octave, has popped up in the Pacific.

Tropical Storm Octave is spinning over the tropical Eastern Pacific, according to the NHC.

The storm is moving west at nearly 8 mph with maximum sustained winds of 65 mph, according to an early morning advisory on Thursday, Oct. 2 .

The storm could strengthen into a hurricane by Saturday night, but it is not expected to make landfall.

There are no coastal watches or warnings in effect due to Tropical Storm Octave, according to the NHC.
