WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - Students, families and staff at Irving Elementary School laced up their sneakers and filled the sidewalks Wednesday morning for the school’s third annual Walk to School Day.

The event coincided with Kansas Week Without Driving and encouraged families to leave their cars behind and walk together. Participants were greeted with music, cheers, and high-energy performances from Wichita North High School’s cheerleaders, dance team, and drumline.
