DETROIT – The alligator that roamed Belle Isle for several days has been captured and taken to a safe place, authorities confirmed.
Staff members at the Detroit park were alerted to a possible alligator sighting on Friday, Sept. 26.
Officials did not visually confirm the presence of the non-native reptile for themselves, but the Department of Natural Resources later received a credible photo with geolocation data.
