Watertown's Mile Long Yard Sale & Artisan Market scheduled Oct. 4, is expected to draw thousands to the small Wilson County community.
Watertown has about 1,550 permanent residents, according to recent census figures, but the town is engulfed by thousands of people twice a year for the city’s Mile Long Yard Sale.
The fall edition of the now named Mile Long Yard Sale & Artisan Market is scheduled for Oct. 4.
The sale is held every spring and fall and officials estimate that it draws up to 10,000 to the Wilson County community, often described to have a Mayberry feel from the old "The Andy Griffith Show."
“Small town America at its best,” said Jim Amero, the sale's longtime coordinator, who has stepped down due to health reasons. “A lot of people look forward to making the trip.”
