In honor of National Taco Day, which falls on Oct. 7, Yelp released its " Top 100 Taco Spots 2025 " list and Arizona made a splash with eight restaurants on the list, including one in the top 10. There's more. Arizona was also named the third best state for tacos, behind California, which had 45 spots on the list, and Texas, which had nine.

The list identified the following trends: Vampiros tacos are trending and the birria love hasn't died down. And Arizona's Sonoran-style tacos made with charred meat received special attention.
