Three teen boys were shot, and one died, on Oct. 2 in Phoenix, and officials said detectives are investigating.

Phoenix police responded to a reported shooting at about 7:45 p.m. near 37th and La Salle streets, according to department spokesperson Sgt. Lorraine Fernandez. They found two teen boys with gunshot wounds.

The boys were taken to a hospital. One had injuries that were not life-threatening, and the other boy, who was in critical condition, later died, Fernandez said.

A third teen boy wounded in the shooting later arrived at the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, according to Fernandez.

Detectives were still piecing together what led to the shooting, Fernandez said.
