One in five Brits consider their AI devices like Alexa, Siri or ChatGPT to be their friend. A study found that just over 20% of folk believe they had a ‘genuine pal’ in their virtual assistants.
Chatbots are designed to mimic human conversation, and can ‘talk’ with us about anything and everything. The study by Currys found that 49% of those polled also admitted taking advice on personal issues from a chatbot rather than a friend or loved one.
