FACTORYVILLE, Pa. — A Dalton Borough police officer was stabbed Wednesday night after responding to a call in Factoryville.

"This was a domestic call, it began that way, and oftentimes, these domestic calls are unpredictable, and it escalated beyond what it intended to be, to the point of violence against an officer,” said Joe Peters, the Wyoming County District Attorney.

Dalton police officer Ricky Stevens responded to a domestic call at an apartment here on College Avenue. When Devan Fenton, the man living at the apartment, realized he was going to jail, police say he allegedly grabbed a steak knife from the kitchen and lunged at Officer Stevens despite being tased.

Stevens was cut on his forehead, his arms, and was stabbed through his left hand.
