Sault Ste. Marie MPP Chris Scott says he will take a “short leave” from partisan and non-essential public appearances.”
He provided his first official statement on social media Thursday.

It’s the first statement he has issued to constituents since he was charged by Sault Ste. Marie Police Services on Nov. 19.
“Serving this community is one of the greatest honours and privileges of my life,” the statement reads.
He says he’s fully committed to serving Sault Ste. Marie residents, as he was elected to do.
“Constituency services will continue without interruption and my work as your MPP continues. My office remains open to help residents with casework, government programs and everyday issues.”
Scott said he has retained counsel to represent him and has trust and confi
