Bhubaneswar: The Deep Depression over northwest and adjoining westcentral Bay of Bengal crossed Odisha coast close to Gopalpur at around 5 pm on Thursday with maximum sustained wind speed of 55-65 kmph gusting to 75 kmph.
According to the India Meteorological Department, the system is likely to continue to move north-northwestwards across South Odisha and weaken gradually into a depression by October 3 morning. ADVERTISEMENT
Accumulated rainfall recorded in the last 24 hours, ending 5.30 pm, is as follows: Parlekhemundi (Gajapati) 101 mm, Koraput (Koraput) 63.6 mm, Daringbadi (Kandhamal) 46.0 mm, Nabarangpur (Nabarangpur) 42.2 mm.
