Excited Glasgow shoppers have been pictured queuing up ahead of the opening of the city's first Uniqlo store.

Pictures shared with Glasgow Live show punters lining up on Argyle Street as they eagerly awaited the opening of the popular Japanese brand on Thursday, October 2.

When the doors finally opened this afternoon, shoppers were greeted with big smiles form members of staff, with the new opening a welcome boost for Glasgow city centre .

Prior to opening, we were given a first look inside the huge 1,100 sq meter store, which spans over two floors.

The retailer promises a commitment to quality, style, functionality and comfort, and as well as offering its signature LifeWear, the store will spotlight local Scottish brands and artisans.
