The Woodland Trust is making an urgent appeal to the public for help raising £1.25m to buy and protect two areas of woodland bordering its Hargate Forest, a reserve much-loved by locals. This stunning forest and heathland on the southern edge of Tunbridge Wells , which can be accessed via Broadwater Down, is a cherished haven, teeming with wildlife, along with mature woodland, many diverse plants and flowers, and glorious views.
The north parcel of land for sale, as KentLive reported in January , has huge historical significance for the area. That's because beneath the land, which is close to the entrance in Broadwater Down, is a network of Second World War tunnels and a bunker.
This 4.7 acres is being marketed as having potential for future redevelopment. And it's been put forward t
