KINGS MOUNTAIN, N.C. — A Gastonia man was found guilty this week of stabbing and killing his ex-girlfriend at a gas station in January 2023 .
The Cleveland County District Attorney's Office confirmed to WCNC Charlotte that Timothy Prescott Parson was convicted and subsequently sentenced to life in prison without parole. State prison records show that, as of publication, he is an active inmate in the Central Prison in Raleigh.
In January 2023, Kings Mountain Police were called to the Silver Express station on Kings Street for the reported stabbing. They found a woman, identified as 34-year-old Ashley Erin Scoggins, with stab wounds. She was rushed to a hospital but died of her injuries.
