Former Iowa State football quarterback Brock Purdy will miss the San Francisco 49ers ' Week 5 game against the Los Angeles Rams with a toe injury.

The 49ers ' injury report ahead of their game against the Rams on Thursday, Oct. 2, lists Purdy along with several other starters on the offense as "out." Purdy hadn't practiced this week after returning to the starting role in a loss against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, Sept. 28.

Purdy struggled in Week 4 against the Jaguars and appeared limited by his toe injury. The 25-year-old threw for over 300 yards and two touchdowns but turned the ball over three times, including fumbling on a potential game-winning drive.
