WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) -- A man charged in connection with a fatal stabbing reportedly confessed to it.

It happened shortly before 9 a.m. on Saturday, August 30, in the 800 block of South Fern. Police responded to the scene and found Elvera Langkiet, 64, with stab wounds to her neck.

She was transported to the hospital in critical condition. She died four days later in an intensive care unit.

Isaiah Langkiet, 24, was charged with first-degree murder in her death. The charging affidavit states that Langkiet admitted to a Wichita Police detective that he became angry after his grandmother criticized him for how he was doing his laundry.

Langkiet reportedly told the detective he slapped his grandmother across the face, then went to the kitchen, where he retrieved an 8-inch kitchen knife. He
